Piancornello is a winery born from the hard work of four generations of farmers, in a territory where Brunello, the village of Montalcino and a centuries-old history blend together. In 1950, Claudios great grandfather Zefiro acquired the property of Piancornello, which consisted of a rural house dating back to the 1700s and the land surrounding it, and started to plant the first Brunello vineyards here. In the years that followed, Claudios parents, Alfeo and Silvana, continued to cultivate these vineyards.nnTasting Notes: The Piancornello Rosso di Montalcino is like a younger brother trying to mimic his older brother (Brunello) and succeding! Tobacco and exotic spice intertwined with notes of black and red cherries. Firm tannins with a vivid yet balanced acidity. 100$ Sangiovese grapes, 1000% worth trying!
