Grown in the southeastern town of Vidalia, Georgia. The low-sulphur soil and moist, mild climate here nurtures this round, juicy onion that is so sweet it is said to be tearless. Because it is a "short-day" onion it is grown only in winter and harvested once a year between April and June. Vidalias are mostly used raw in salads.
