In 1981 Louis Coluccio Jr. was born and from there on grew up in his families specialty food store (for a short while he lived upstairs from the store). He worked with his Grandfather (Nonno) and father packaging groceries, stocking shelves, and learning all about what it means to serve a community.
In 2012 Louis founded A.L.C. as a nod to the historic salumerias that seemed to be all but disappearing. Louis wanted a return to the ‘mom and pop’ shops he grew up with and thought there would be no better place for this than the neighborhood where he was born and raised, and currently resided.
He found this to be the perfect opportunity to bring the same entrepreneurial spirit and love of family and food that his father and grandfather had to a new generation of Italian Americans.
