Serving people who love food in Washington Heights
Frank's has been proud to serve the residents of uptown Manhattan since 1948. A German refugee named Ziggy Frank opened his small butcher shop on 187th Street after World War II. He provided prime meats and gourmet items to the local residents of 'Frankfurt-on-the-Hudson' that reminded them of the old country. In 1976, Robert Masick, one of Ziggy's long time employees took over the business. He kept the store on 187th street and upheld Ziggy's standards of quality and service.
Over the years it evolved from a small neighborhood butcher into premier gourmet shop of Washington Heights to meet the needs and desires of its evolving clientele.
