Located on bustling Bleecker street in the West Village of Manhattan, Rocco's Pasticceria is a delicious Italian pastry shop serving up mouthwatering baked goods and strong espresso — it's also a New York staple. Inside the brightly lit display cases at Rocco's are a slew of classic Italian desserts: giant cannoli, creamy tiramisu, and lots of assorted, colorful cookies and pastries. The shop was opened by first-generation Italian immigrant pastry chef Rocco Sr. in 1957, and today, it's run by his children and grandchildren, who learned the tricks of the trade directly from the guy who invented the recipes. When you visit Rocco's, there's a good chance you'll encounter a line of tourists. You can wait in it to get a table-service table in the back, or simply grab a delicious treat and coffee to go.
